What Pullstring stands for

OUR VALUES

If you love Blythe, you belong here. Whether you have one girl or two hundred, or even just a wishlist.

This is a place for dolls and joy. As long as you're kind and respectful, you can leave notes, show off your shelf, or just lurk and pore over the spec cards.

Let's build this together. Pullstring will grow from what users ask for, so please tell me what you'd love to see.

No algorithm. No ads. You own your images. I see a daily count of visits and sign-ups, and that's it. Pullstring is volunteer-run by one woman with a young baby, so thank you for your patience.

ONE OF MY GIRLS

Hi, I'm Cait.

I made Pullstring because I love poring over doll specs. Since I was thirteen, my comfort food has been eBay doll listings, even when I had no money to buy anything.

How it started

FROM MOD MOLLY TO CARDCAPTOR SAKURA

After growing up with a Blythe-obsessed mum, I began collecting again in 2026, while postpartum with my first child. I loved using Pullstring's predecessor, My Doll Collection, but I wanted to list my own collection. I also couldn't afford to ship all the official guidebooks to New Zealand, so I made a version of my own.

It stands on twenty-five years of fan archives, from Bla Bla Blythe and The Dolly Insider to Blythopia and the Blythe Wiki. I have endeavoured to credit every doll page that uses their work.

How it's going

RECLAIMING INTERNET JOY

When I first shared Pullstring in a Blythe collectors' Facebook group, my posts were removed and people were suspicious of my intentions. I understand why, in this day and age, but it made me nostalgic for a time when girls could create together on the internet, and we didn't feel policed and preyed upon. It feels almost blasphemous for such a creative, handmade community to make its home on Meta's platforms.

Bedroom culture, indie archives, the sociology of kawaii: there is a lot of discussion around that lost internet right now. Pullstring is my small part in bringing it back. If you're too young to remember Total Girl and Neopets, I hope we can recreate a piece of that joy for you.

Leave a note in my mailbox anytime, or send your suggestions here.

Ngā mihi, and here's to 25 years of Blythe. ♥︎ Cait
